When did Blakestad become part of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA)?
March 1st, 2017
Why did MMA choose Blakestad?
MMA was looking for a leading private client agency to add to its presence in the upper Midwest. Blakestad’s well-established presence in Minnesota, strong leadership, service-oriented culture, and focus on excellence in risk management were what attracted MMA’s leaders to the agency. In addition, MMA was attracted to Blakestad’s commercial book of business.
What is MMA?
MMA was created in 2008 as a separate operating subsidiary of Marsh Inc., the world’s leading global insurance broker and risk management advisor, primarily to serve the property, and casualty, personal lines, and employee benefits needs of the middle market businesses and individuals across North America.
Since November 2009, MMA has been building its national platform by strategically acquiring high-quality insurance and consulting firms across the country.
MMA is now a $1 billion-plus company with more than 100 offices across the U.S. and Canada.
What are the advantages of being part of MMA?
As part of the MMA enterprise, Blakestad employees will have greater career opportunities and the ability to acquire larger books of business. Our leaders, experts, specialists and consultants will be sought by other MMA companies to help their clients, providing nationwide sales opportunities.
Blakestad clients will continue to receive the same personal service they have come to expect from us, along with access to Marsh’s industry expertise, resources, global markets and virtually any risk management product they could need through MMA and the rest of the Marsh & McLennan Companies’ family of businesses.
Overall, joining MMA allows Blakestad to keep its leadership, operating model and its culture in place, while adding the support and resources of the world’s leading insurance broker and risk management advisor.
